Androgenetic alopecia or commonly known as male pattern baldness is main reason for men hair loss. The usual affected areas in men are hairline and crown area of head. It has been estimated recently that male pattern baldness has affected more that 40% of men in India by the age of 50. Male pattern baldness does not signify any medical disorder, but it may alienate the person with low self-esteem or cause anxiety. The hair loss is usually permanent.
The main cause of Male pattern baldness is their genes predisposing and sex hormones. It usually follows pattern of receding hairline and hair thinning on the crown.
